At OKAMI, we believe in standing together with our local communities, especially in times of hardship. As Cyclone Alfred approached Queensland, we organised a two-day dumpling giveaway event at our Springwood and Dakabin restaurants to provide support and comfort to residents during this challenging time.
A Heart-warming Response from the Community
Throughout the event, we saw an overwhelming turnout, with local residents lining up outside our restaurants to receive free dumplings. It was truly touching to see the community come together, and we were honoured to offer a small gesture of warmth during uncertain times.
On the second day, as the cyclone moved closer, our commitment to helping didn’t stop at our restaurant doors. We took action and personally delivered dumplings to over 30 families who were unable to visit us in person. The heartfelt gratitude from the community reinforced our belief that OKAMI is more than just a restaurant—it’s a place that genuinely cares for its people.
Strengthening Our Local Ties
The event was a testament to OKAMI’s dedication to social responsibility and our strong connection with the local community. The appreciation and support we received from residents have helped build OKAMI’s reputation as a brand that truly cares, reinforcing our mission to give back whenever we can.
More to Come!
This is just the beginning—OKAMI will continue to support our communities with more meaningful initiatives in the future. Stay tuned for upcoming events as we work together to create positive change!
Thank you to everyone who participated, and to our hardworking team for making this event possible. We stand with you, always. ❤️
