newsMelbourne’s under $35 all-you-can-eat Japanese sensation is coming to Sydney

Melbourne’s home of all-you-can-eat Japanese dining is coming to Sydney this August. Launching in Marrickville and Silverwater, Okami will bring over 30 Japanese dishes in its ‘all-you-can-eat’ feast for just $34.80.

With over 20 restaurants in Melbourne, Marrickville marks the first Sydney location on 19 August followed by Silverwater in mid-September with more locations in Sydney to be announced soon.

Made fresh to order and designed to share (so you can try more), the dish selection includes an indulgent beef carpaccio that is lightly seared, crunchy Karaage chicken, crispy yet silky Agadashi tofu with fish flakes and a steamed velvety egg custard ‘Chawan Mushi’ with chicken and soy bean.

There are also freshly sliced sashimi and sushi platters, crumbed Chicken Katsu with a Tonkatsu sauce and ‘Takoyaki’, crispy octopus balls served with tangy wasabi mayonnaise, for the more adventurous.

Okami Executive Chef, Nick Goh says “visiting Okami is like visiting family, it’s sharing warm moments with your friends and family over a meal enjoyed together. Launching in Sydney marks a new chapter which will see more people have the chance to experience our unique Japanese banquet for an affordable price.”

For those that don’t have time to dine in, the a la carte takeaway menu features heart-warming ‘Pork Katsu Don’, breadcrumbed pork fillet on rice, a variety of bento boxes highlighting tempura prawns or teriyaki salmon and fried udon bowls loaded with vegetables, beef or chicken.

Since opening in 2013 from humble beginnings in Hampton Melbourne, Okami has expanded more than 20 locations with the vision to launch 10-15 restaurants in Sydney by the end of 2021.
